Your photo
stays local.
Omit is a manual-first Android photo-redaction tool. Images, optional suggestions, edits, and export checks are processed on your device.
Effective: September 6, 2026
Images and processing
When you choose an image with Android Photo Picker or share an image to Omit, the app copies it into app-private storage. Manual redaction tools, user-requested text and face suggestions, full-resolution rendering, and export checks run on the device. Omit does not upload your images to a developer server.
Omit creates a new raster copy and never modifies the selected original. A successfully saved copy is written to Pictures/Omit.
Local storage and deletion
An unfinished draft may remain in app-private storage so work can recover after the app process stops. You can remove the draft. Omit automatically cleans up abandoned private source copies after approximately 24 hours and deletes failed temporary exports. Copies saved to your device remain until you delete them using your photo or file manager. Uninstalling Omit removes its app-private data.
Sharing
Omit opens the Android system share sheet only after you choose Share copy. The app or service you select then handles that exported copy under its own privacy policy.
Data collection and permissions
Omit has no account system, advertising, analytics, cloud upload, or backend. It does not collect or share personal data. The app does not request Internet access, broad photo-library access, location, camera, microphone, contacts, or notification permission.
Limits of export checks
Omit checks marked areas and selected export metadata. It cannot find information you did not mark and does not guarantee that every sensitive detail has been removed.
Children
Omit is a general-purpose utility and is not designed specifically for children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
