Information processed on your device
When you explicitly choose Use my location, Android may provide a one-time foreground location so ROAD ATLAS can suggest the nearest bundled road stop. The location is used only for that suggestion. Raw coordinates and location history are not stored.
The app stores your selected and current stops, focus task text, focus-session timing, completed road logs, vehicle progress, Credits, XP, visited routes, and settings in its private on-device storage.
Optional anonymous usage analytics
Anonymous usage analytics is off by default. If you enable Share anonymous usage analytics in Settings, ROAD ATLAS uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record coarse events such as onboarding completion, journey start, journey completion, cancellation, and Engine upgrades.
ROAD ATLAS never sends task text, stop or route identifiers, raw location, exact timestamps, or your local trip history. Google Analytics may process app interactions, an app-installation identifier, device/app metadata, and approximate location inferred from network information. Advertising-ID collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings.
No account or journey backend
ROAD ATLAS has no account, advertising, cloud sync, or production journey backend. The road graph, map boundaries, and visual assets are bundled with the app. ROAD ATLAS does not sell personal information. If analytics is enabled, Google processes only the limited data described above as our service provider.
Permissions
Location permission is optional and is requested only after you choose the location action. You can deny it and select a starting stop manually with the same core functionality. ROAD ATLAS does not request background location.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you use the Debug reset in a non-production build, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Android cloud backup is disabled for ROAD ATLAS, so uninstalling the app removes its private atlas.
Third-party data and changes
Bundled road geometry is derived from OpenStreetMap and OSRM. Bundled national boundaries use Natural Earth. These sources are not contacted while you use the app.
If this policy changes materially, the updated policy will be included with an app update and its effective date will change.
